Celebrated a bridal shower yesterday and this is definitely one of my favorite spots. Everything about it is amazing. There are so many tea options and a lot of options for food. We did the Victorian tea menu which offered a glass of champagne or mimosa, soup, salad, plate of different sandwiches and then dessert. In between each course, it did take a while for the next one to come out but we did have a larger group and it was pretty busy. The decor from the inside to outside is so cute. It is definitely a fun experience being there!

The Owner called and was such a friendly, kind and professional woman. We went back to The Tea House and they took wonderful care of us and as ALWAYS, served us the most delicious food! It was a memorable experience and I am grateful that there are still owner operators who care about their customers. If you have a chance, go and try their fabulous food!

Had such a wonderful time at the tea house today! Definitely make reservations in advance because this place is very busy; the decor inside and out it is fantastic. I love that all of the glasses and kettles are all unique and they have so many different types of tea to choose from. we ate from different menus and i though it was unique that they also have a "experience" menus which comes with several items. I highly recommend getting a scone (they also have GF). It comes with a cream spread and jam Spread which are delicious. If you're in it for the aesthetics and the food there are plenty of options for photo opportunities. I would recommend showing up with patience. It does take a short bit to be seated, even with reservations and staff are busy so you may wait a few extra minutes to order or get your items but everyone is incredibly kind! I highly recommend and will be back!

Most amazing breakfast/brunch/lunch place. I went for the first time with 3 of my girl friends on a Saturday morning at 10. I had made a reservation a few months beforehand. We chose to all order the Garden Tea. I chose the Tea House Private Reserve (their signature tea) and it was AMAZING. I grew up having tea parties with my grandmother with the tea set, sugar cubes, and the creamer just like they have the set up at the Tea House. My grandmother was from England, so she of course loved to have tea parties with my sister and I. Because of that, I typically have at least 2 cups of tea a day. The tea at the teahouse on Los Rios blows all of the teabags I have at home out of the water. It is some of the best tea I have ever had. I was in heaven. The scone was Devine as well. I ate every single crumb. By the time I got to the sandwiches, I was already full on the scone and 5 cups of tea. We ended up taking most of our delicious sandwich assortments home. Before we left, we made another reservation so use girlies could all go together again! We were so pleased with our experience.

Enchanting and quaint tea house! The staff were very friendly, and the shop is decorated beautifully. I love the garden. The scone was phenomenal and served warm. I also liked the iced tea which came with edible flowers and raspberries. I would love if the food was served on a tiered platter, I think that would really match the atmosphere of this adorable tea shop! While the scone was very filling, the other portions were a bit small for the price.

7/25/24 This is the gift shopper by/for The Tea House next door Stopped by merely to see pretty things-so so cute Got a couple of postcards for friends. Lovely merchandise & the staff (Pedro) was sweet & helpful Gotta check this place out y'all

We came on a Thursday afternoon just looking for a cute place to chill, and wow was I blown away! The inside is decorated so cute, and the tea and scones were fabulous! We just ordered the current scone, tea service, and trifle a la carte and I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. The scone and jam was truly out of this world, and both teas we got are some of the best I've had! The blackberry bramble black tea was fruity, smooth, and paired perfectly with jam. The caramel black tea was sweet and had subtle notes of caramel that blended really well. Truly delicious and I'll definitely be coming back! Service wasn't the most attentive, but we came nearer to closing and everything was brought out quickly so no complaints!

Absolutely adorable spot in an adorable neighborhood for enjoying tea. There are a lot of tables inside the converted home, as well as outside on the veranda and porch. There's smooth jazz playing in the background and the garden surrounding the property is beautiful, so the ambiance is really nice. Highly recommend that you book your table on OpenTable.com in advance, as they seem to host many parties and have a lot of people visiting, even during the weekday. Our server, Adam, was helpful in giving us some suggestions on popular items to order. He also instructed us on how to use the tea strainer, although my friend and I have had numerous afternoon teas and know how it all works, it was nice of him to tell us as I'm sure he's encountered many who haven't and are afraid to ask. In addition to tea sets, you could order an actual meal. Each person can choose a tea, so get different kinds so you can share your pot with others in your party. The scone and tea came out first. I really enjoyed the scone, so good!! It's huge and moist and not crumbly. I got the Queen Catherine tea and enjoyed it. I usually drink my tea straight up with no sugar or cream, but this one is a strong tea, so it tastes good with the cream and sugar. I was honestly disappointed when our food came out, that it was on individual plates rather than a tiered serving stand. Maybe they take up too much space to store, but it kind of deflated the experience for me. The sandwiches itself were ok. They all tasted rather dry and the chicken salad and curry chicken could've used more mayo or whatever sauce they use to mix with the chicken. My favorite was the mushroom on the flaky pastry. I don't know what it was called, but it was tasty. We also got a dessert plate which was good, but was pretty full from drinking so much tea so I ended up taking it home. You can bring your tea experience home and go next door to the gift shop to buy tins of tea that they offer at the tea house. I purchased Peach Apricot previously which is now one of my favorites. But since I still have some, I decided to try the "Private Reserve" this time. This one is really good too! The teas here are expensive, but the quality of tea is top notch - loose leaf, and big leaves... not the ground up, small leaves of inexpensive brands.

This charming little tea house is tucked away in a quaint part of San Juan Capistrano that will make you think you're on the set of Bridgerton. It's literally a house that has been converted into a tea house. The garden outside is beautiful and makes a great backdrop for pictures. The inside is just as pretty from the wallpaper to the tableware. They really paid attention to every detail, even the bathrooms shouldn't be missed. I recommend doing one of their tea experiences for a first timer, but they also have lunch entrees and even a brunch menu on the weekends. I did the Victorian Tea Experience ($55) which to me is the best value and comes with a lot of food. You get one of their amazing scones, choice of tea, soup, salad, tea sandwiches and dessert along with a glass of champagne or mimosa. The tea service starts with a huge, warm currant scone that is so good when you pile on the cream and raspberry preserves. The tea menu is overwhelming with all of the choices but I chose the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose which was a nice and light green tea. Next came the soup and salad courses which were tasty but nothing special. The tea sandwiches are cute but hit or miss in terms of taste. The cucumber and cream cheese was probably my favorite. For dessert, the duo of chocolate and coconut cakes were the perfect ending but very sweet. This is a great place to gather girl friends for a special occasion. We had a group of 8 for a baby shower and our server was so nice, always checking in on us and we never felt rushed. There isn't much parking at the tea house but it's a short walk from the Los Rios Park parking lot. Be sure to make a reservation in advance and break out your cutest floral dress for a good time here.

I came to The Tea House on Los Rios for a high tea birthday lunch and it was a great experience. We came on a Thursday at 2pm and sat outside with the lovely decor and flowers. The plants, flowers, and cutlery were enchanting and stood out the most with great detail. Our server had a lot of knowledge on the menu but was a little slow on bringing out the food and tea. The whole experience lasted at least two hours because of it so definitely come prepared to stay a while. I also recommend parking at the nearby park since there is no other parking around from what I could see. We opted for the $42 high tea experience and the Shepherds pie. There were plenty of amazing options to choose from their vast collection of tea leaves and we loved every single one. Our favorite was the Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose which had a sweet flavor and smelled so floral. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. The sandwiches were fresh and flavorful, and the scones were perfectly baked and paired with the tea. However, the portion sizes were quite small, especially considering the high price point. The Shepherd's Pie, in particular, was underwhelming with only a few pieces of steak in the dish. Despite the portion sizes, the overall experience at The Tea House on Los Rios was memorable. The ambiance and attention to detail in the decor made it a charming place for tea. While the food was enjoyable, it's the enchanting atmosphere that truly makes this tea house worth visiting. I would recommend The Tea House on Los Rios for anyone looking to enjoy a unique high tea experience. Just be prepared for a longer stay and small portions.
